Bridal Hair/Makeup Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing me to be part of your wedding day. It is a privilege to help you feel beautiful, confident, and completely yourself on such a special occasion.

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully.

1. Booking & Wedding Retainer

A £100 retainer is required to reserve your wedding date. Your booking is confirmed once the retainer has been received and your booking details have been agreed in writing.

The retainer contributes towards reserving your date, administration, and commitment involved in accepting your booking. If you cancel, any amount retained will be assessed in accordance with the cancellation policy below and applicable consumer law.

Your agreed quotation will confirm the services booked, the number of clients, the wedding location and the total price.

2. Payment

The remaining balance must be paid in full four weeks before the wedding date.

Any additional service agreed after the original booking will be added to your invoice. All payments must be made using the agreed payment method and by the stated deadlines.

3. Cancellation Policy

I understand the wedding plans can change. If you need to cancel your booking, please notify me in writing as soon as possible.

As your date is reserved exclusively for you, a cancellation may result in lost income and costs already incurred. Any cancellation charge will be fair, proportionate, and based on the reasonable losses arising from the cancellation, taking into account any costs saved and any opportunity to rebook the date.

The following schedule is intended as a guide to the maximum cancellation charge, subject to an assessment of actual reasonable losses:

  • More than 12 weeks before the wedding: Up to the £50 retainer, where justified by the cost and losses incurred

  • 8-12 weeks before the wedding: 25% of the total booking price

  • 4-8 weeks before the wedding: 50% of the total booking price

  • 2-4 weeks before the wedding: 75% of the total booking price

  • Less than 2 weeks before the wedding: 100% of the total booking price, where the full amount represents a reasonable estimate of the loss incurred.

If your wedding is postponed, I will do my best to accommodate your new date, subject to availability. If I am unavailable, the cancellation policy will apply fairly to the original booking.

4. Changes to Client Numbers

Your final number of makeup/hair clients must be confirmed four weeks before the wedding, when the final balance is due.

Please let me know as early as possible if you would like to add or remove services or clients.

  • Additional clients are subject to availability and may incur extra charges.

  • Reductions in the number of clients may not reduce the agreed total if the time has already been reserved or costs have been incurred.

  • Significant changes to the booking may require adjustments to the schedule, staffing, and the final balance.

5. Hair & Makeup Preview

A bridal preview is recommended to discuss your preferred look, skin preparation, and any specific requirements before your wedding day.

Preview appointments are charged separately at the rate agreed at the time of booking. The preview fee is payable regardless of whether the final booking proceeds.

Please bring inspirational photographs and arrive with a clean face, free from makeup. For the hair appointment, please wash your hair the night before and bring any hair accessories or veil you will be wearing on the wedding day.

While I will always aim to achieve your desired makeup, the results can vary depending on skin type, skin preparation, products, and individual preferences. Any significant changes to the agreed look on the wedding day may not be possible within the allocated time.

6. Travel & Parking Fees

Travel fees will be confirmed before your booking is accepted and will be based on the wedding location and any additional journey required.

Parking, tolls, congestion charges, accommodation, or other necessary travel expenses will be discussed in advance and added to your invoice where applicable.

The client is responsible for arranging suitable parking at the venue or providing reimbursement for agreed parking costs.

Any significant changes to the venue or location may result in an adjustment to the travel fee, which will be agreed with you beforehand.

7. Client Responsibilities on the wedding day

To help your morning run smoothly, please ensure:

  • A clean, comfortable, and well-lit space is available for makeup application.

  • Everyone arrives at their allocated ppointment time and is ready for the service

  • Any inspiration images, preferences, or concerns are communicated before the makeup application.

  • Relevant skin sensitivities, allergies, or any other important information is disclosed before the appointment.

  • The agreed schedule is followed

Delays caused by late arrivals, unavailable clients, or changes to the schedule may affect the time available for each service. I will do my best to accommodate reasonable changes, but I can not guarantee that additional services or extensive changes will be possible.

Please appoint one person to help coordinate the bridal party if necessary, so you can relax and enjoy your morning.

8. Allergies, Skin Sensitivities & Hygiene

Your safety and comfort are very important to me. Please disclose any known allergies, skin sensitivities, eye conditions, or relevant concerns before your appointment. If you have a history of reactions to cosmetic products or hair products, please let me know so we can discuss suitable precautions.

I follow appropriate hygiene practices, including cleaning brushes and tools between clients and using hygienic product application methods.

I reserve the right to decline a service if I reasonably believe it may compromise your health and safety.

9. Photography & Copyright

I may take some photographs during your appointment for my professional portfolio, website, or social media, but your privacy and comfort come first.

Your photographs will only be used for promotional purposes with your explicit permission. You may decline photography without affecting the service you receive.

10. Privacy & Personal Information

I respect your privacy and will handle your personal information responsibly.

I will retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary and to meet applicable legal and accounting requirements.

11. Payments

All prices will be confirmed in writing before your booking is finalised.

Payments must be made using the agreed payment method and by the dates agreed on your invoice.

You must pay the final balance by the agreed due date before the wedding. Any additional services or agreed expenses will be invoiced separately or added to the final balance.

If the payment is overdue, I will contact you to discuss the outstanding amount and a reasonable resolution. Any interest, recovery costs, or other charges will only be applied where legally permitted and properly disclosed.

12. Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of circumstances beyond either party’s reasonable control, such as severe travel disruption, extreme weather, or an emergency, both parties will communicate promptly and make reasonable efforts to find a practical solution.

13. Agreement

By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions.

Your booking confirmation, agreed quotation, and any written amendments will form part of the agreement between us.
